There’s something extra sweet about making memories in the kitchen -especially when little hands are helping. This simple three-ingredient jam is the perfect way to get your kids involved in cooking. From washing the berries to mashing them up, there are plenty of fun, safe steps for tiny chefs. Not only is it easy to make, but it’s also a great opportunity to slow down, get a little messy, and enjoy a taste of summer together – one spoonful at a time.
Julia’s Three Ingredient Jam
- 3 cups of berries
- 1/4 cup of honey
- Juice of 1 lemon
Directions:
- In a medium saucepan, combine berries, honey, and lemon juice.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat to medium-low. Boil gently, uncovered, stirring often, until mixture is slightly thickened and saucy, 15-20 minutes.
- Remove from heat; use a potato masher or wooden spoon to mash berries to desired consistency.
- Cool completely at room temperature, at least 1 hour. (Mixture will thicken as it cools.)
