Philly Cheesesteak Sliders & Crispy Oven Fries: The Ultimate Easy Dinner Combo

    Ingredients:

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    • 1 large sweet onion, sliced into thin half-moons

    • 2 bell peppers (any color), sliced into thin strips

    • 1 1/2 pounds shaved steak or thinly sliced ribeye, sliced into thin strips

    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

    • 1 teaspoon paprika

    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

    • 1 teaspoon salt

    • 1 teaspoon black pepper

    • 1 package (12 count) Hawaiian sweet rolls or slider buns

    • 6–8 slices provolone or white American cheese

    Directions:

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    2. Cut the onion in half, then slice into thin half-moon strips.
    3. Remove seeds and stems from the bell peppers, then slice into thin strips.
    4. Prep the steak: If using whole ribeye, slice into very thin strips. In a bowl, combine the steak with Worcestershire sauce, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat and let sit while vegetables cook.
    5. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and bell peppers. Sauté until soft and lightly caramelized, about 8–10 minutes.
    6. Push veggies to the side of the skillet and add the seasoned steak. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 4–5 minutes, then mix with the vegetables and remove from heat.
    7. Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    8. Layer the steak and veggie mixture evenly over the bottom buns.
    9. Top with provolone or white American cheese slices.
    10. Place the top halves of the rolls on.
    11. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and everything is heated through.
    12. Slice and serve warm!

    Ingredients:

    • 3–4 medium russet potatoes

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil

    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

    • 1 teaspoon paprika

    • 1 teaspoon salt (plus more to taste)

    • ½ teaspoon black pepper

    Directions:

    1. Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Wash and scrub the russet potatoes (peel if preferred).
    3. Cut the potatoes into ¼- to ½-inch thick fries using a crinkle cutter for those signature ridges.
    4. Pat the fries dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to help them crisp up.
    5. In a large bowl, toss the fries with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
    6. Spread the fries in a single layer on the baking sheet, making sure they’re not overcrowded.
    7. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crisp on the edges.
    8. Season with extra salt if needed, and serve hot!

Step 1: Bake the Fries First (Higher Temp)

    1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
    2. Prepare and season your crinkle-cut russet fries as directed.
    3. Spread them in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
    4. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
    5. While fries are baking, prep your Philly cheesesteak sliders and cover the baking dish tightly with foil.

Step 2: Lower the Oven & Add Sliders

    1. When the fries are done, remove them from the oven and lower the temp to 350°F.
    2. While the oven cools down, keep the fries warm by loosely covering with foil or placing them back in the oven for the last few minutes of slider baking.
    3. Once the oven reaches 350°F, bake your foil-covered sliders for 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted and everything is heated through.
    4. Optional: Uncover sliders for the last 3–5 minutes if you want the tops slightly toasted.

This method lets you serve both hot and crispy, with minimal juggling.
