One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the years is that fueling my body with good, healthy food makes all the difference in how I show up – not just in my workouts, but as a mom, a wife, and in the everyday chaos of life.

I’m also realistic. With three kids, a busy household, and work on top of it all, I don’t have endless hours to prep elaborate meals. That’s why I focus on simple, nutrient-dense foods that I can pull together quickly, but that still taste delicious and make me feel my best. I’ve found that when I stick to this balance, I have more energy, better mood, and more patience (which, let’s be honest, is worth its weight in gold some days!).

Here’s what a typical day of eating looks like for me right now as a 35-year-old mom of three who’s 5’9” and moves her body 45–60 minutes every day 💪🏼

    Morning Start

    Tea with Lemon
I always begin my day with warm tea and fresh lemon. It feels grounding, helps with hydration, and wakes up my system before the day gets busy.

    Chobani 20 Yogurt
Recently, I’ve been trying to eat a little something before my early morning workouts (I usually start around 5:30am 😅). After listening to a podcast on circadian rhythm and hormone health, I realized how much of a difference this makes in my energy and recovery! A high-protein yogurt is perfect — it’s quick, light, and gives me the fuel I need without weighing me down.

    Breakfast

    Egg & Veggie Scramble
Eggs are my go-to breakfast, but I love loading them up with sautéed vegetables for extra flavor and nutrients. It’s hearty but still light enough to keep me moving.

      Grüns Vitamins
This has become part of my daily routine for a little added boost in micronutrients and greens.

        Hydration

I still aim for at least a gallon of water a day. To make it fun, I infuse my water with seasonal fruit and veggies – like cucumber, orange, or berries.

          Mid-Morning Snack

          Açaí Smoothie/Bowl
Refreshing, colorful, and nutrient-dense! I blend frozen açaí with berries, banana, and a little almond milk. Sometimes I’ll sprinkle granola or coconut on top if I want a smoothie bowl instead.

            Lunch

            Fall Salad
I love a big seasonal salad filled with roasted veggies, mixed greens, and a protein source like chicken or salmon. Fall flavors are my favorite—think roasted squash, cranberries, or pumpkin seeds for a cozy twist.

            Afternoon Pick Me Up

            Coffee Cake
There’s something so nostalgic about a slice of coffee cake in the afternoon. The soft crumb and cinnamon swirl pair perfectly with a warm cup of coffee and give me a little treat to look forward to during my busiest hours.

              Dinner

              Marry Me Chicken Meatballs
This recipe has quickly become a family favorite. Juicy chicken meatballs simmered in a creamy, sun-dried tomato sauce—it’s rich, flavorful, and perfect over pasta or rice. Plus, the leftovers taste even better the next day!

Eating whole, nutrient-dense foods throughout the day helps me feel my best. But I’m also not about perfection — some days are busier than others, and that’s okay. What matters most is finding meals that are simple, satisfying, and realistic for this season of life.

I don’t stress about what I “can’t” have. Instead, I focus on balance, variety, and how each meal fuels my body and keeps me present for my family. Everyone’s food journey is unique, but I hope this glimpse into my day inspires you to try new flavors, enjoy the foods you love, and make healthy eating feel doable even in the middle of a busy, beautiful life.
