This easy fall grazing board is one of my favorite ways to make an ordinary weekend dinner feel a little more special. It’s filled with cozy fall favorites like chicken apple sausage, butternut squash mac and cheese, caramel apples, cheese-stuffed sweet peppers, and plenty of snacks for dipping and grazing.

The best part is that almost everything is store-bought, so it looks impressive without requiring a ton of prep. Serve it for a cozy Saturday night at home, a casual fall get-together, or even game day!

    What You’ll Need

    • Chicken apple sausage

    • Butternut squash mac and cheese

    • Cheese-stuffed mini sweet peppers

    • Caramel apples

    • Honeycrisp or other crisp apples, sliced

    • Caramel dip

    • Pretzels or pretzel bites

    • Sharp cheddar cheese, cubed or sliced

    • Candied pecans or walnuts

    • Popcorn or kettle corn, optional

    • Maple Dijon dipping sauce

    Maple Dijon Dipping Sauce

    • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard

    • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

    • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise

    • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Stir everything together until smooth. Taste and add a little more maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter dipping sauce.

How to Assemble Fall Grazing Board

    1. Prepare the chicken apple sausage according to the package directions. I like to slice it into bite-size pieces and sear it in a skillet until golden brown.
    2. Prepare the butternut squash mac and cheese and spoon it into small bowls or ramekins. Warm the cheese-stuffed sweet peppers according to the package directions.
    3. Place the bowls of mac and cheese, caramel dip, and maple Dijon sauce on a large serving board or platter. Add the caramel apples and arrange the warm sausage and stuffed peppers around them.
    4. Fill in the board with sliced apples, pretzels, sharp cheddar, and candied pecans or walnuts.
    5. Use handfuls of popcorn or kettle corn to fill any empty spaces and make the board look full and abundant.

This board is best served while the sausage, peppers, and mac and cheese are still warm.

    Easy Swaps

The best thing about a grazing board is that there really aren’t any rules. Use what your family loves or what you already have on hand. Try swapping in different fall cheeses, crackers, grapes, dried cranberries, roasted nuts, or another seasonal dip.

You can also make this board as large or small as you need. For a family dinner, keep it simple. If you’re serving it for a fall party or game day, double up on the sausage, mac and cheese, and other favorites.

      My Best Grazing Board Tips

Think about color, texture, and temperature when you build your board. Here, you have warm and savory chicken apple sausage, creamy mac and cheese, crunchy pretzels and nuts, crisp apples, sweet caramel, and colorful stuffed peppers. That variety is what makes a simple board feel extra special.

It’s such a fun way to turn an easy Saturday night dinner into something the whole family gets excited about — because sometimes a cozy fall night deserves to be a little extra.
