These Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken Tenders are an easy family dinner with all the best textures and flavors in one bite. The chicken is coated in crunchy cornflakes, Parmesan, and simple seasonings, then baked until golden and crispy. A quick honey garlic glaze adds a sweet, savory finish without taking away from that delicious crunch. They’re simple enough for a busy weeknight and fun enough to serve with your favorite sides for a dinner everyone will love.

Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken Tenders

Ingredients:

  • 1½–2 lbs chicken tenderloins
  • 4 cups cornflakes
  • ⅓ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1¼ tsp paprika
  • 1¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¾ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • Olive oil or avocado oil spray
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 3–4 sprigs fresh thyme
  • Flaky sea salt, optional

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the cornflakes in a large ziplock bag. Seal and use a rolling pin or the bottom of a measuring cup to crush them into coarse crumbs. You want some texture remaining for an extra-crispy coating. (Food processor option: Pulse the cornflakes a few times in a food processor until coarse crumbs form. Be careful not to process them into a fine powder.)
  3. Add the Parmesan, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the crushed cornflakes. Shake to combine.
  4. Add the beaten eggs to a shallow bowl. Dip each chicken tenderloin into the egg, allowing the excess to drip off. Transfer to the cornflake mixture and press the crumbs firmly onto all sides of the chicken. (For an extra-thick, crispy coating: Dip the coated chicken back into the egg, then into the cornflake mixture a second time, gently pressing the crumbs onto the chicken. You may need an additional egg if double-dipping all of the tenderloins.)
  5. Arrange the chicken in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each piece. Generously spray the tops with olive oil or avocado oil.
  6. Bake for 13–18 minutes, depending on the size of the tenderloins, until the coating is golden and crispy and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  7. While the chicken cooks, make the honey garlic glaze. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
  8. Stir in the honey and soy sauce. Cook for another 1–2 minutes, stirring, until the glaze is warm and combined. Avoid bringing it to a hard boil.
  9. Remove the chicken from the oven and immediately lightly brush the warm honey garlic glaze over the crispy chicken. Don’t completely saturate the coating – you want that sweet and savory honey garlic flavor while keeping the cornflakes crispy.
  10. Finish with fresh thyme and a sprinkle of flaky sea salt, if desired. Serve immediately.
