As summer starts to wind down, our family gets really excited for one of our favorite traditions: our back-to-school shopping day at Utica Square in Tulsa. It’s a day that’s all about fun, a bit of chaos, and a lot of bonding as we get ready for the new school year.
We kick off the day browsing through clothing stores, focusing on the essentials like underwear and socks. It’s surprisingly fun to find those must-have basics that every kid needs for the school year. Getting a good stash of these items always puts us in the back-to-school spirit and makes sure everyone is ready for the year ahead.
Next up is the treasure hunt for school supplies. There’s something special about picking out colorful notebooks, fun pens, and the latest gadgets. It’s like stocking up on a little bit of magic that will make learning a bit more exciting.
One of the sweetest parts of the day is choosing teacher gifts. We love finding thoughtful presents that show our appreciation for all the hard work teachers put in. Whether it’s a personalized mug or a handmade card, it’s our way of saying “thank you.”
After a full day of shopping, we usually treat ourselves to a meal at one of Utica Square’s charming eateries. It’s the perfect way to celebrate a successful day and gear up for the school year ahead.
Our back-to-school shopping day is more than just a chance to stock up on supplies; it’s a special tradition that brings us closer together and gets us excited for the year ahead.
What about you—any back-to-school traditions in your family?
