People often ask me how I get anything done with three little ones at home—and the truth is, it’s not always graceful. But over the years, I’ve spent hours working away from home, so it really helps me appreciate being able to have the flexibility to work from home. The rhythm usually changes weekly and I just have to remember its a chance for me to learn! It’s built on flexibility, early mornings, and a lot of Trello boards. oh and an amazing assistant!
This season of life doesn’t come with a tidy 9–5. Some days I’m answering emails while my toddler builds a block tower beside me. Other days, I’m editing a video on my walking pad in my pajamas before the house is awake. But I’ve learned that progress over perfection is the name of the game.
Before we get started, I want to share a few things that help me stay focused:
Having a loose daily rhythm (not a strict schedule).
I block out chunks of time for specific tasks—like filming in the morning light or editing while the kids nap. But I leave space for life to happen, too. Flexibility is the only reason this works.

I use Trello to organize everything:
– Content calendars for Instagram, blog, and newsletters
– Campaign boards to track deadlines, drafts, and deliverables
– Home + life boards for grocery lists, birthday planning, and family rhythms
It’s visual, easy to update, and lets me brain-dump without forgetting anything important.
Micro pockets of productivity.
I’ve let go of needing long, uninterrupted hours. Some days I get a reel edited in 20 minutes on the walking pad. Some days, I answer DMs while waiting at school pickup. It all counts.
Clear priorities for each day.
Before I open my laptop, I jot down 3 goals for the day—just three. It keeps me focused and helps me feel accomplished, even if the rest of the day goes off-script.

Setting the Mood
I always start my workday by lighting a candle to set the tone. There’s just something about the soft glow and calming scent that helps me transition into “work mode.” Lately, I’ve been loving this Pickwick candle from Amber Marie & Co. It instantly makes my office feel peaceful, intentional, and focused – plus it smells amazing.
Office Hours: Content + Planning
Once I’ve got my cozy setup, I settle into my office and dive into content creation. I use this time to plan emails for my weekly list, edit photos and videos, brainstorm recipes, and outline upcoming blog and social media content. Some days I batch-create emails, while others I’m organizing content calendars or planning seasonal recipe series. I’ve found that having dedicated space and time to pour into this work really makes a difference.
Getting My Steps In
After a solid chunk of desk time, I hop on my walking pad for some movement. I love multitasking by walking while editing videos or catching up on messages. It’s a great way to break up the day and get my steps in—even when I’m glued to my laptop. Working from home can be surprisingly sedentary, so this has been a game-changer for my energy and focus.
Lunch Break
When lunchtime rolls around, I head to the kitchen and whip up one of my go-to meals: crispy chicken wraps paired with a fresh blueberry peach salad. It’s nourishing, easy, and packed with flavor. I’ll link them below!

Work-from-home style is all about comfy but cute. I’ve been living in this outfit lately – it’s soft, breathable, and still polished enough to hop on a Zoom call or film content. Afternoon in the Kitchen
After lunch, I move into the kitchen for a bit of filming. I test new recipes, record how-tos, or shoot short-form videos for Instagram or Pinterest. This is where all the cookbook magic happens! Wrapping Up Outdoors
Once the kitchen is clean and I’ve crossed a few more things off my to-do list, I take my laptop outside while the kids play. I’ll schedule my posts, reply to comments, or finish up a few graphics—all while soaking up some sun and watching the kids burn off their energy with our favorite outdoor toys.
And then… phone away.
When dinner rolls around, it’s family time. I make it a point to put my phone down and be fully present. Working from home means the lines between work and life can easily blur – but being intentional about that boundary has been one of the best things I’ve done for both.
