If you’re looking for the ultimate crowd-pleaser for game day, these Cheddar Pot Roast Sliders are it. Tender, juicy beef gets piled high on soft slider buns, smothered in creamy cheddar sauce, and baked to golden perfection. Whether you’re hosting a backyard tailgate, heading to a potluck, or just feeding a hungry crew at home, these sliders deliver the flavor and fun that make every gathering feel like a win.

    Cheddar Pot Roast Sliders

      For the Roast

      • 3–4 lb chuck roast
      • 2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil (for searing)
      • 4 cloves garlic, minced
      • ½ cup beef broth (low sodium)
      • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
      • Salt + pepper, to taste

      For the Cheddar Sauce

      • 2 tbsp butter
      • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
      • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
      • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
      • Salt + pepper, to taste

      For the Sliders

      • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
      • Melted butter for brushing (optional)
      • Sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning (optional)
      • Optional toppings: caramelized onions, pickled or fresh jalapeños, sautéed mushrooms, or sliced pepperoncini

      Directions:

      1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
      2. Pat chuck roast dry, season with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear roast 3–4 minutes per side until nicely browned.
      3. Lift the roast slightly and scatter minced garlic underneath. Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce around the roast.
      4. Cover with a tight-fitting lid and bake for 3–4 hours, until beef is fork tender.
      5. Shred beef directly in the pot juices with two forks to keep it moist.
      6. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes until golden.
      7. Slowly whisk in warm milk, stirring constantly until smooth and thickened (about 3–5 minutes).
      8. Stir in cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
      9. Slice slider buns in half and place bottoms on a sheet pan. Layer with shredded pot roast, spoon cheddar sauce generously over the top, and add any optional toppings. Place bun tops on.
      10. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
      11. Cover loosely with foil and bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes until warmed through and buns are golden.
