There’s something about the start of a new month that makes me crave routine again — not in an all-or-nothing way, but in a “let’s gently get back into the groove” kind of way.
The kids are finally back to school, the house is quiet, and mornings feel a little more spacious again. It feels like a fresh page — a chance to reset, refocus, and ease back into rhythms that make our days feel calmer.
Here’s what a realistic morning looks like for me right now.
Here are a few tips that help me get up and start on the right foot!
Set your alarm somewhere where you have to physically get out of bed to turn it off. I leave mine in our bathroom.
Have your favorite cozy blanket and devotional ready to go, and your favorite candle on standby!
When that alarm dings, I want you to countdown 5-4-3-2-1, and then get your booty up!
Make yourself a pitcher of infused water to help you get rehydrated
I start my day slow, usually with coffee and a few minutes to myself before the house really wakes up.
One of the biggest things that’s helped me stay grounded lately is using a devotional and a habit tracker.
This is my all time favorite morning devotional. I’ve used it for years!
I’m sharing the habit tracker I personally use with my daily habits already filled in, along with an editable version so you can customize it for your own routines and goals this year. I love having everything laid out in one place — it keeps me focused without feeling overwhelming.
Breakfast is always simple but filling. I heat up a Champion Fuel Breakfast Sandwich for myself — it’s one of my favorites and so easy to make at home. For the kids, I put together breakfast for the kids according to our weekly menu!
While everyone finishes eating, I prep a few things to set myself up for the rest of the day. I blend a green smoothie, take my immunity shot, and make a big bottle of infused water so I remember to actually drink water throughout the morning. These little habits make a big difference for me, especially when the days start getting busy again.
Once the kids are out the door and the kitchen is reset, I squeeze in a quick workout. Nothing fancy — just movement that helps me feel better physically and mentally. I’ve linked the workouts I’m using right now for anyone who wants to check them out.
Before settling into work, I get dressed and do a simple morning reset.
This season isn’t about perfection or doing everything “right.” It’s about easing back into routines that support our family and make mornings feel a little calmer.
